Josh Glaze was our guest speaker today from the West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind, located at 2001 Austin Street here in San Angelo, telling us about their latest venture – Lighthouse Office Supply.
The West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind started here in San Angelo in 1953 and has manufactured many products and product lines to employ blind and visually impaired persons in the Concho Valley.  Their latest venture is the Lighthouse Office Supply Company, which is an online supply company, but future plans include a brick-and-mortar store. A lot of the products in their office supply line are made by the blind and visually impaired.
At the current time there are 44 blind and visually impaired people employed at the Lighthouse.
The Lighthouse also sells products to the Federal Government and the State of Texas.
The Lighthouse Office Supply division was started about 1 ½ years ago to continue their missions – to create jobs for those who are blind.  And whatever products you may get at the “big box stores”, like copy paper, you can get at Lighthouse Office Supply.  And with some products there is free same day delivery in certain areas.
