John Hutcherson, Rotary District 5840 Governor 2019-20, was our speaker this morning. Both DG John and his wife, Past District Governor Judy Hutcherson 2016-17, have now served as Rotary District 5840 Governor.
He joined the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club in 2002 and served as Club President 2011-2012. While President of the Club, DG Hutcherson and Club raised $410,000 for a skateboard park to benefit the city.
Although manual labor is not his favorite thing to do, DG Hutcherson and several others met in to help build sanitation facilities for ladies in a poor village in India and served in Polio eradication projects in both India and Pakistan.
It is efforts like these that back up what he said this morning: “The opportunity for service is boundless”.
May we all follow his example as Rotarians and live the motto “Service Above Self”.
