Kaitlyn Brosh was our guest speaker this morning.  She is the VISTA Project Manager with  Concho Valley VISTA Placement Project.
This is an Americorps VISTA program sponsored by Angelo State University and the San Angelo Health Foundation.
Americorps VISTA is a national community service organization whose members are passionate and committed to their mission to bring individuals and communities out of poverty.  President John F. Kennedy originated the idea in 1965 and named the idea Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA).  It was incorporated into the AmeriCorps network in 1993.
The service commitment of a VISTA is one year, full time.  VISTAs are allowed to enroll in school or hold another part-time job as long as it doesn’t interfere with their project.
There are several end-of-service benefits:

*Member must meet additional eligibility requirements to receive these benefits
